Ok, looking at these system specs, and having looked at all the trailers and gameplay videos that have been released, and DAMN, yeah. Do not be planning on tossing this game on an older computer and hoping it will do "OK"
First off, holy photo torpedo's bat man, this is a pretty game. Graphically, I do not think trek fans will be disappointed. But then graphically, this game will probably bring even a pretty new computer to it's knees.
So, for those of you out there contemplating hardware for this game, DO NOT be getting anything with integrated graphics or share memory or any of that shit. Personally I recommend nVidia graphics cards, as they are a little more standard, a lot better track record for driver support, and (my own personal bias) i think you get a lot more life out of the cards, even when they are 'old news' a few years down the road. They are however, a bit more expensive then AMD/ATI cards right now - still I think it is worth it.
If anyone would like any help in planning/pricing a system for the holidays, or more importantly the coming star trek game, I'd be happy to help.
